It's mind-blowing how a company of this size can function when the staff don't know how to communicate with their clients. I've gotten my mail stolen by my neighbors and lost by the staff and was told by the staff, "it's not our fault our complex isn't safe to get mail delivered to". The staff are quite slimy and deceitful. If I could give this apartment complex a lower score I would. It's not worth the emotional and physical stress one gets from living here. Living at an apartment complex should not be this difficult. I rented from spring 2018 through fall 2019. ...

If I could give Aspen Chase negative stars, I would. My building has drug dealers and frequent Marijuana users in it. Since I have 2 dogs, management blamed the smell on me; now I'm getting evicted. I am a disabled Iraq war vet. I rented from winter 2016 through winter 2016. ...

If you have any choice in the matter, do not rent from Aspen Chase. Everything they tell you is a half-truth, the 31-page lease contains elements that I suspect are illegal under Michigan law. The buildings are old and in poor repair (ie they replace balconies when they fall, rather than all at once for safety). The worst aspect of this terrible apartment complex is the financial management. Every check you send in you need to verify that they actually apply it to your apartment, they fail at this spectacularly often. You will pay for water for about two months after you are no longer living there. Individual apartments are not metered for water, so you are paying for the total complex bill divided by how many apartments there are. So there is no incentive not to waste water, and the water bills are high. If you are one day late on your rent, huge fines. My apartment came with the carpet saturated in dog or cat piss. The management did nothing about it, and we spent about $60 on cleaning supplies just to make the apartment habitable. In the winter, the snow plows regularly push a row of snow onto people's car, making digging your car out in the morning a huge time consuming chore. With the exception of possibly the maintenance staff, everyone who works for Aspen Chase is either a liar or incompetent. I would avoid McKinley owned properties altogether, because many issues with this complex stem directly from management policies. I rented from summer 10 through spring 11. ...
