Office management changed five times during my three years at Fountain Place. Office manager number five...Bev...is nice until you need to question where some mystery charge came from. Then, she turns into a raging beast; she will tell you that it "isn't [her] job" to figure out the charge. The apartments are seriously outdated. In three years, I can honestly say that I never once stood or sat on my apartment's "private" balcony without thinking it was going to collapse, sending me to my death. The swimming pool has large cracks and leaks chlorinated water directly into the river five feet away...that's good for the fish. A body was pulled out of the river during my final year there. Heat is included, but you don't control it yourself. Rather, the management turns it on and you boil to death. We had a thermometer in our apartment, and during my first year there, it routinely reached the mid-90's everyday. If you weren't too hot, you were freezing to death. Several times in each of the winters I lived there, the boiler broke. We were without any semblance of heat for days on end. My roommate and I set up an elaborate series of fans to blow the hot air from the oven into our bedrooms. It worked but for fearing our apartment burning down and killing us. The "study room" is nothing more than a basement filled with people's left behind, mismatched furniture. The "gym" is the same; it is filled with broken exercise machines, a lat pulldown, and a bench press that has one fifteen pound weight and one four pound weight - you decide how to use it. Do you remember Tony Little's Gazelle?? The "gym" had one. Only, it was broken, and they used plywood to "fix" it. The "gym" is a lawsuit waiting to happen. That's about it. I could go on and on, but I'm le tired. I rented from winter '05 through winter '08. ...
