I wouldn't call these "luxury" apartments by any stretch of the imagination. The buildings are old (approximately 30 years) and in disrepair. The new owners have put a lot of time and effort in trying to get it all fixed, but the years of neglect are showing... I have lived in my Regent Park apartment for over 2 years now. It is spacious, but outdated. I am on the 3rd floor and the summers are horrible. It gets around 82 degrees in our living room on hot days. The winters are no better. I have to put insulating plastic over the windows and patio door to keep the cold out. The cabinets and other built in items are old and showing wear. The bath fixtures are old and right now our bathtub is stopped up and has been for a few days... They have been working on it, but had to call in a plumber. The maintenance people respond quickly, that is a plus. I am still waiting on them to fix the lack of proper cooling in the summer. I have been waiting for over a year for them to fix that and they just keep coming out and checking the a/c unit and never look at the leaking old windows or the insulation. It is quite comical sometimes almost like the 3 stooges. They have checked the a/c unit so many times it is silly. They seem to refuse to look at the windows or insulation. They also turned the children pool into a barbeque area without asking anybody's opinion... We called them and they said it was a "business decision." Well, tell that to my toddler who cannot use that pool now. They also changed the pool rules and really made that into a mess as well. I just got off the phone with the manager and they are not going to fix my heating / cooling problem. So basically I am stuck until I can move out. If you decide to move to Regent Park, definitely do not get a 3rd floor unit or expect proper heating and cooling in any of the units. For the money, I would go elsewhere... I rented from spring '05 through summer '07. ...
