First, the apartment. you go to look at the sample. The sample looks great: everything new, everything lookin great. then, you get your apartment: stained carpets from prior tenants, stuff falling apart. Our bath tub wouldnt drain when we moved in, so the maintenance man came to "fix" it. he fixed it all right, now it drains, but he had to pull it apart to fix it, and the guts of the plumbing are hanging in our tub, rusting. I love taking baths, but sure cant in that tub. Its been like that for seven months, and regaurdless of the fact that we bring it to their attention every month when we pay rent (including some written requests to fix it), it has not been fixed. Second, the manager. she is the rudest, most obnoxious person i have ever met. we were at my neighbors a few months ago. hanging out, listening to music. we may have been a bit loud, but it was about 8:00 on a friday night. we hang out a lot, and when we do, we know that our lease states that 10pm is quiet time. we are in our own apartments and usually in bed at this time. well, the manager (dubbed the "ugly stepsister") stuck her head down by where the window was opened to let in fresh air and yells "hey! HEY! SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" wow, real professional. We were all kind of stunned that instead of coming to the door, and asking to talk to us, she decided to take this approach. A bunch of my neighbors are upset. our leases are due up in may, july, august and september and we are ALL moving out. Word of advice, go somewhere else. anywhere else. If you think these problems would be fixed by talking to the owning management company (given and spindler), youre wrong. they dont care what goes on, just as long as they get their money. I rented from winter '08 through summer '08. ...
