I highly recommend Eagle Village Apartments. You have your own private bedroom and the apartment I had was fully furnished. Everything was up-to-date and the rent was very affordable. The atmosphere of the apartment complex was safe and homey feeling.

This place is by far the most awful place to live! First off, don't live here without knowing your other three roommates first. Eagle Village will place you with random people but they send out letters saying that they won't deal with roommate issues. I'm sorry, but you can't randomly assign people to apartments and expect everything to be honky dory and not take even the slightest responsiblility when issues arise. I had an AWFUL roommate who constantly threatened me when things didn't go her way. I eventually called the police and got a police report. The office told me (with my parents present) that with the police report the other girl would be evicted and prohibited from Eagle Village property. I was also told that if I ever saw on the property that I was to call the police and she would be arrested. A few days after this girl moved out, my other roommates and I started seeing her on the property. We decided to tell the office about seeing her and all they said to us was that "they were handling it." Well, come to find out this girl, who had threatened me multiple times, wasn't evicted at all. Eagle Village PAID the transfer fee for this person to move to a different apartment on the property. The management flat out LIED to not only me, but my parents also. I absolutely HATE living here and I'm currently looking for a way to hold to office liable for lying to me so I can move out. I don't feel comfortable, secure, or safe on the property at all. I literally come to tears when it comes time for me to go back to that horrid place. People are so loud every night with parties and security just sits there and watches. Nothing ever gets done about anything. When I think of all the hard earned money I'm wasting on this awful dump, I want to vomit! Please, for the sake of your sanity, LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE! ...

This place is not friendly. The staff in the office is rude and uneducated. The security guards and maintenance people are nice. Their internet is not fast it is very slow from 6 to 10 at night. They threaten you with letters saying "to avoid paying the cost of a new AC unit, do not run your AC on nights that are below 70". I seem biased but this is from my experience. Bottom Line: I would rather spend my money elsewhere. ...

This is the worst place to live. The management here is very 2 faced. The staff in all departments are very unprofessional in handling situations that arise. In order to do laundry you have to have a card and put money on it. The only problem is that the office is never open during hours they say they are or the machine to put money on the card in broke. You are not allowed to have pets, even a gallon fish tank breaks the lease. But there are some people that do have pets and the management turns their back on them. They like to play favorites with people. The office is allowed to enter your apartment at anytime with or without announcement. There are times when I, being a female, was getting ready to get in the shower and maitenance has entered. I asked them to leave and come back later. Maintence told me that they had a tight schedule and would not leave. So I had to wait for them to do their stuff and leave, then get in the shower. I was late for work that day. I also complained to the office and they said that it was my problem and that I was lying about the maintenance not leaving. This is the worst place to live. Lots of people think it will be nice and convient place to live since it is so close to USI. This is completely not true. I rented from summer '08 through spring '09. ...

I moved into Eagle Village at the very beginning. At the start, from its first management company, it was great. The manager was always helpful to me. The internet, while getting slow once more people moved in, was promptly upgraded to a higher-speed internet. Back then, the price of a room was $375/month. Then the problems began. The management changed; now run by Moore Management of Newburgh, IN, prices were up to $400/month. And while the majority of my roommates were great, one of the last ones before I moved out was so messy, despite being told to keep the common area clean. Bear in mind that the profile (which includes preferences concerning alcohol, noise, smoking, and keeping the apartment clean) was useless. From being very clean, this roommate turned the kitchen into a nasty mess. No, this was not directly the fault of Eagle Village; however it shows that the profile is useless. And, of course, upon moving out, I was told that 1/4th (since there were a total of four living there at the time) must be paid by me. It's annoying, but I can deal with it. After moving out on May 9, 2008, I awaited the deposit, only to receive nothing in the mail. Nothing had shown up, and they again changed management. The new management company is (by the bank who deals with Eagle Village) only liable for deposits after moving out May 24th, meaning the old management group (Moore Management) is responsible for anything before, during their management period. Not surprisingly, they're trying to screw me over by not paying the deposit back. I was glad that I had them take what was left out of my rent (about 9-10 days) from my deposit, as well as the very small bit of cleaning required. Granted, it does not amount up to the deposit, but at least it's a bit less I got stolen from me. I am awaiting a response call from Moore Management before I contact my attorney. Long story short, know who you're going to get as roommates, make sure your last month uses all of your deposit, and expect to pay for (or clean up) the messes of others. Also, while the internet is fast under normal use, the very second some jerk decides to use file-sharing software, everybody else will get speed that makes dial-up internet look blazingly fast. If you're desperate, sign the smallest lease you can, and remember about that last month's rent. But after my experiences there, not only will I never return, but I will also spread the word about their business practices. Do you live in Evansville? Spread the word at USI, Ivy Tech, and University of Evansville; Spread the word that you will never get your deposit back. I give it a 3 for quality, as the actual place is nice. I give it a 1 for price due to the rip-off of the deposit. I'd give it a 0 if it were available. Location is great, right next to the USI campus. Social life gets a poor due to the amount of noisy neighbors, drunk people outside, etc. The landlord gets a 1 as well, due to allowing these unethical business practices continue. Parking gets an excellent, however. When there weren't enough spaces for the people, a second parking lot was built. All-in-all, take your business elsewhere. Eagle village is the worst idea for arranged living I have ever seen!!! So let me set a few things straight as one of the former long term residents. Yes in the beginning It was a nice place to live the first year occupancy was at around 30-40% so more than likely you could have 1-2 roommates and possibly no neighbors at all and they were new so of course they were nice. But then they spiraled down hill quick, the next year they were better known and advertised as an off campus place to live that was safe to party at. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! I am 21 and was still not allowed to carry a beer outside of my apartment with out getting a PI or being accused of contributing to my underaged drunk neighbors!!! Now that people have lived in them The apartments are falling apart, the floors are unlevel (you could actually put a marble at one end of my apartment and watch it roll to the other end), The walls are paper thin, Your bed is a mattress that lays on wooden slats, the doors open with a simple twist of a credit card or butter knife, and yes they do have washers and dryers but yep they get your money for those too. They have had a broken basket ball goal (which is they're only recreation area) for almost a year. Kevin the owner is a great guy and the only way you'll ever see work get done on your apartment, but he seems to never be around. They do have two good security guards but they only work nights and with a relative of one of the maintenance guy's having somehow obtained a master key, thousands of dollars and personal items of residents came up missing, as well as the complexes own TV and Couch from they're model apartment!!! Yes rent is $375 a month or well now its $400 but that is per room, so rent for the whole apt. is $1200 a month, seriously get together and split rent somewhere! Someplace where your stuff is safe, you are safe, and you might stand the chance of getting a deposit back! Oh yea and for your deposit good luck, I suggest that if you've already signed the lease just don't pay your last months rent and cut out so they can't srew you for any money. They are taking my deposit as well as my two roommates, and trying to bill us for $2700. Please!! They are trying to cover themselves and the $10,000 its costing to replace all the door locks from the guy that had the master key and stole everyones stuff. So the bottom line is DON'T LIVE HERE!!!!!!!! I rented from fall '05 through spring '07. ...
