We’ve had nothing but issues with Candles. During our lease, we had several issues with vandalization of vehicles, harassment in the building by neighbors, neighbors intentionally being destructive with the shared laundry units, hornets were always by the entrances in any heat, the smells in the apartment were god awful consistently, infestations, repeated ding-dong ditch incidents in the middle of the night, and the toilet in the bathroom was sagging into the floor. The rooms were not insulated well, the pipes made the water taste very metallic, the bathroom floor tiles were sinking inward and squishy upon moving in, the toilet didn’t flush in one of the two bathrooms, and the building construction was very thin. You would hear slamming doors, knocking, running around, and people talking at all hours from any room in the apartment. We were told that all carpets are shampooed by a professional after each resident moves, but when I moved in there was a ton of African American hair in all of the carpets. Only one person was African American who was living in our home and they were only there half of the time. There’s no way that hair could’ve been hers. I vacuumed daily in that apartment with a roomba and I also did shampoo the carpets twice due to infestations. Even after over 20 hours of vacuuming, we were still picking up hair that wasn’t ours. Nothing was done about any of it. But the one time that neighbors reported us over a lie to Candles, we were immediately contacted regarding the issue. We repeatedly reported one family over the course of a year. We were told there was no documentation (at the end of our lease) regarding any of these reports. On top of all that stress, the final bill cost has changed now three times, from owing them money to us being owed money. I have videos of the apartment when we moved out, but they are saying the place wasn’t clean. This has been an overwhelmingly horrible experience and I would not recommend living here to anyone. ...

I've been living in this complex for a year and a half now and it has been one of the worst apartments I have ever lived in. When I signed my lease they told me I would be in this building on the second floor. When it came to move in time, they put me in a different building and on the first floor. They also told me I would have fire place in the corner of my livingroom, its a sink that leaks. All the appliances are from the '90s and barely work. When I asked for a new microwave and stove they gave me a used microwave that has mold growing on the plate. I've seen the bi-yearly maintenance once since living here for 1.5 years and they only showed up bc it was required. When you schedule for maintenance, they don't show up. I had to stop them and ask when they were gonna show up, told me they didn't know about my appointment and admitted to my face they weren't gonna show up unless I said something to them. I have a huge dent in the wall we're someone was thrown into the wall before we moved it. We have a mouse hole in our floor that they glued the carpet over but left the hole. They don't care that people are breaking into cars and vandalism them at night. They refuse to put up cameras, they say the cops won't let them. Ive had my apartment almost broken into many times, once was a group of kid.They also are making people get rid of their vehicles for having body damage if they can't afford to fix the car. I am now careless because of it. The walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors. They care more about the looks of the place than their residents. Also check their Google reviews, they weren't gonna do anything about an almost kidnapping that happened at their pool infront of the parents of the kid. ...

It has been very rough living in a apartment complex. My walls are thin so I can hear everything that is going on in my neighbors apartment vice versa. A lot of people are not considerate or respectful of others.
