The first semester I was in love with the house. It has free long distance, free laundry right inside the house, and is very spacious and great for parties. However, soon girls started getting sick from mold that is everywhere in the houses. The managers did not fix the problem so we had to get the housing office involved. If they clean up the mold problem it is a decent facility to live in. As far as the social life, it was somewhat of a nightmare. The ward is linked with the Barnes Dorm. Do not get me wrong, a lot of the girls were really really sweet. However, there is a underlying inmaturatey in the ward that is a bit exhausting if you are not a freshman. The thing that pushed me over the edge to never moving back was the neighbors and the manager. One neighbor liked to come over to our house because of the negativity in her own apartment. She occasionaly stayed past curfew, which I admit was our fault and should have not allowed. However, the reaction of the neighbors was ridiculous. They barged in to our apartment without knocking one night after curfew. They yelled at us for breaking curfew and informed us that they reported us several times. That report for actually breaking curfew was justifiable, but they continued to report us even though we stopped breaking curfew after the incident. They made up stories and reported us for things we did not even do. They would look through the windows of their house into ours to make sure we were keeping the rules. Several girls have been kicked out of BYU-I due to minor infractions because of these girl's habit of habitually reporting things, even when they do not occur. That, coupled with the fact that the bishop, while nice and caring, will not hesitate to kick you out for a minor infraction of the honor code. That was a long winded story, but you have been warned. A lot of those girls still live there and make it a very unpleasent place to live. I rented from winter '09 through spring '09. ...
