I don't regret my time at Tower House. t's a private apartment in a "triplex", connected to the other side of the duplex and the landlord family's garage apartment. The apartment consists of 1 private room and 1 shared room. The house itself seems
pretty standard for living conditions in Laie, which means below average for the mainland. This means it is infested with ants and could use some serious renovation, chickens run around the back yard and roosters crow in the early morning. There are worse places you could live, though, for sure.
The price is pretty cheap as far as student housing goes. Residents have free access to the washer and clothesline. High speed wireless internet is also provided. The kitchen sink is extremely small.
The landlord, Chris Wilson, is an incredibly nice guy who is often willing to work with you or help you out in any way he can. He has never complained about anything we've done, and though he may not be the most proactive about keeping the lawn mowed or fixing things in the apartment, he'll usually do something if you ask him to. There is also a lot of parking room, with the carport and front yard all usable for parking.
Overall, while it may not be the fanciest place to live, the price and landlord make living at the Tower House worth it.
I rented from spring 10 through fall 10.
