Woodcrest Apartments was an awesome first apartment to live in during college. First, it felt safe because the units were far enough away from the street, deep enough into the parking lot so that you didn't need to worry about random wanderers. Yet, it was close enough to the street and parking lot that you didn't need to fear the walk from your car to your front door. The units were really nice and well designed. They were also pretty big. Mine was a two bedroom with a huge master bedroom, and the secondary bedroom was only a bit smaller, with a large walk in closet. These units, I believe called "Jupiter Units," also had a large second bathroom close to the second room that it was considered "my bathroom." It was huge and had a sectioned toilet/bath room from the sink/storage area. The kitchen was spacious and open so that you could socialize with the living room while you were in there. It was also carpet throughout, other than the kitchen area, which was nice because it gets so cold in the winter. A huge plus for this complex was the bills. The rent was the same every month- and water and gas were included. No matter how much water you used or how often you used the heater, the rent bill never increased. Wifi and Electricity were the only bills you had to pay through a seperate provider and still they ranged to be around $80/mo; $40 split between two people. That kept rent around $740 a month. The walkways were kept well, especially during snow season. A plow would come through and handle the parking lot, but the complex is close enough to Walmart, Bashas (grocery store with a starbucks!), campus, and other dining locations that walking was easy so the snow never caused many problems. Finally, the staff was amazing. Communicating rent issues with them was the most efficient way to stay on their good side. They always recognized my roommate and I, so if we dropped in to the office- to pick up packages, or just to say hi- they would recognize us by name and tell us if we had any mail before we could even ask. They were really nice and helpful when trying to learn about the amenities and things that the complex offered. Finally, there is a resident portal online that could be used to ask questions, make maintenance requests, and pay bills. It was also like a social platform where you could interact with your neighbors and post public forums to ask questions. I loved this apartment and would have stayed all four years if I could have. ...
