This place is great for the money. Affordable, great location, and structurily sound. My biggest issue was drunks were often asleep in the stairwells as I was leaving for work. They were quiet drunks for the most part. Seriously I would see s drunk like every other week sleeping on the stairwell so I was always afraid they would wake up and attack me or something. And I was not an early morning person- I left at 7:30am so I know the early bird military folks probably ran off a few drunks. Also in the laundry rooms this was a problem but the management did correct it by installing a coded laundry door for tenants. As far as I know the entryways and halls are unsecured. Another problem I ran into was that after hours if you had an emergency such as no heat. The actual owner appeared to be oncall maintenance and it tok him hours to respond to the apartment. So I turned on my oven to stay warm. I know that isnt the most safe thing but it was the middle of the night in the winter. Living else where in Fairbanks, the other complexes are more responsive. If you ever have noise complaints you just have to call the police because management will not respond. It was not often and only happened maybe once or twice in the year I was there. I didnt like that laundry was in a different building so you had to haul laundry across the street but hey- it was affordable and they upgraded to new machines while I was living there. I hated the parking because the headbolt was wired seperate from the apt. So you got 2 electric bills and gvea would charge their ridiculous customer charge for your apt and headbolt. Then if your credit has any negatives expect to sell out a deposit on each account. It was my feeling that management should rewire that into the apts, to help the tenants with the ridiculous electric fees. Otherwise, I did enjoy my stay. I was able to walk to the Carlson Center, run by the lake, and just be a hop away from downtown and everything. I kind of miss the convienent location. The rent was very reasonable and I know they have increased but it might still be a good deal. I rented from fall '06 through fall '07. ...
